I have to set this post up with a scene from one of my favorite movies, Tommy Boy, when Chris Farley is at a gas station, backs the car up into a pole and rips the door off. He carefully puts the door back and waits for David Spade to open it. As it drops to the ground, Chris says to Spade with a surprised look on his face, “what d’you do?” For some reason, that scene always makes me laugh whenever it comes up. Well, I pulled a “door drop” moment today when I upgraded to the latest versions of WordPress and Thesis. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the hours needed to fix it. At the same time, I really like the concept of posterous so I’m posting here from now on until I have the patience to work with my other blog.
If you’re reading this you will get a dose of my goofs and imperfections like the one above. Since I’m now at a real day job most of the time, you will also get my take on my adventures in B2B marketing communications, the fun things we are doing with client data and how we integrate all of that into marketing channels including social media. The past four months (time I’ve been at new job) have been challenging because I was brought in to introduce new things into a traditional environment. I have been a change agent (I’ll show you the bruises to prove it), but it is getting easier because it’s all about education and creating value for clients. Most importantly management is behind me 100%. That helps!
Hope you are able to share your adventures with me too! See you later and on Twitter and Facebook J You can also email me anytime – anna10 at cox dot net.
I spent quite a bit of time creating my blog annabarcelos.me a couple months ago with the hopes I would be posting regularly. However, I got a new job as you can see by my post "Five Tweets to a Job." Since then, it has been a challenge because there are corporate social media objectives I had to prioritize over my personal ones. I'm really impressed with posterous so far because it's the simplest blogging tool I've seen to date.
If things can't be simple, they just can't be. We'll see how well I do on here. It's almost as simple as Twitter. Any tips on how I can get the best out of using posterous would be appreciated :-)
